For all the days of this year, I have written or reviewed an article and posted it online, but today was different. I didn’t feel like it. First, today began with me being barred from using WhatsApp for almost 10 hours, and numerous other issues swaying me from side to side, while I was also undergoing treatment for malaria.
Then I read Mark Zuckerberg’s quote, “The biggest risk is not taking any risk.” It would be more risky if I don’t write, I said to myself. I cannot avoid writing now.
The idea behind Zuckerberg’s quote is that avoiding risk can lead to worse situations than the loss of what we risk. So, I chose to write.
For the growth I have experienced in writing, I chose the risk of writing again. For the ideas and insights that have come to me while writing, I chose the risk to write. For the courage I have gotten over fear to express myself, I chose the risk to write. And lastly, to fulfill my long term vision of writing everyday, I chose the risk to write.
My question to you is simple, “When faced with whatever situation, what would you chose, you take a risk or you avoid risk?”
