I AM AT PEACE

July 16, 2025

Welcome to Episode One Hundred and Ninety-Four.

We bring you everyday wisdom to help improve your life in many ways.

This discussion is focused on remaining calm in the midst of turmoil and setback while finding a way out. The title is, I AM AT PEACE.

Without a moment’s notice, most problems and challenges befall us. The unexpected bill arrives. The plan crumbles. Hope is dashed. With this sting, your heart might race or a wave of frustration washes over you. In these moments, declaring “I am at peace” can feel laughable. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that cultivating peace becomes your most powerful tool.

Peace isn’t the absence of the storm; it’s the calm we cultivate when in the storm. It is finding the anchor that stops you from being swept away by panic or despair. Let’s look at how to find that anchor and use the setback as fertile ground for growth.

Earlier in the day, I was faced with a situation where I lost a lot of personal data on WhatsApp. My first instinct was to react, but I remembered that in the morning I had chosen to write on the topic, “I am at peace”, so I kept my cool and tried to focus on other things without making a fuss. When a setback happens, stop immediately. Don’t react, don’t spiral into negative responses. Learn to maintain a relaxed mind and cool head. Calm down and remove yourself from panic mode.

While I had called close allies to discuss the situation as it was noticed by a few, I said to myself that what matters to me is “I don’t have to lose whatever was important and relevant at the moment and in the future.” With that in mind I focused on staying calm and being at peace.

In the calm, I was able to think about how to reach out to certain individuals who could provide me the access to documents I had shared and relevant WhatsApp groups. At present, I have made progress with access to relevant information I thought was lost.

I had decided that I would still find time to write this article, so I wanted to stay calm and peaceful to keep a cool head and gather my thoughts. Just before I began working, I engaged in a chat and the discussion gave clarity to how I can make more progress with getting lost information. I will work on that.

Looking back at the day, I am grateful I choose the topic. God provides avenues for us to display patience when we ask Him to help us with our anxieties and worries. He leads us to see opportunities to express kindness and love, when we pray for Him to help us with hatred or un-forgiveness in our heart. This was an opportunity for me to be at peace and I am glad I was able to stay calm in the midst of it. I will keep working to get back whatever data is relevant and important for now and in the future. I am at peace.
