FIND WHY

July 18, 2025

With stealth, problems come. Unwanted. Uninvited. Often without a moment’s notice. The storm rocks your boats. Like fire, it attempts to consume you. Swinging like a double-edged sword that cuts in all directions, it puts your wits and agility to the test. Sometimes, you are totally beat down by it. Other times, you keep fighting, never to give up.

Yes, the problem has arrived. Now what? What’s next? You need to not only survive in it, but find a way out of it. How do you find the solution while you’re still in the thick of it? Obviously, it’s not a place you would dwell in forever, so you must endeavour to seek a solution out of it.

The title for this discussion is FIND WHY. It focuses on ways and steps to seek solution while in challenging situations. This is Episode One Hundred and Ninety-Six.

One of the foremost ways you can react to challenging situations is to ask yourself “Why Me?” While this inquiry is often out of despair, it also holds the power to acknowledge the frustration, but not to wallow in it. The answer to “Why Me” can consciously shift your internal dialogue. Instead of dwelling on the injustice of the problem, in the answer, you can find the strength you possess that energises you to take a step. This changes you from being the victim to seeking the solution that makes you the victor.

In such situations, you should also ask “Why This?” This question can make you take a critical look at the problem. A massive problem feels overwhelming and unsolvable, but when you can identify the specific components of the setback, you can slice it into smaller, bite-sized pieces and tackle them one by one. Solving one small piece provides a win, boosts confidence, and often reveals the path forward for the next piece.

To seek the hidden lesson of the problem, look for “The Why.” Remember, in our last post, we looked at why problems come. Asking this question brings to the fore what the situation is trying to teach or show you. An active look at the problem can make you understand the root cause or the embedded lesson, leading you to see an opportunity to grow, a flaw it reveals, or the priority it clarifies. This revelation often points directly toward the solution.

Find answers to the pertinent question of “Why Not?” To figure out a leverage you can apply out of the dire straits, take a critical look at where, what and who you can trust. Ask why you should approach them or not. Evaluate why you should trust people into your space and issues at that moment and what value they can bring as solution to you.

Your ardent approach to these questions helps you see that problems are not the end of your story. In fact, these questions provide clarity that helps you to identify avenues and people who can play important roles in helping you find solutions to the problems you are in.
