Welcome to Episode One Hundred and Eighty-two.
We bring you everyday wisdom that help improve your life in many ways.
This discourse focuses on harnessing the powers of fundamental laws to achieve success. The title is, TRUST THE PHYSICS.
Many people chase success like it is a distant, far reaching star. It gets worse when we see others achieve some form of success and we wonder, “Why not me?” While on our journey, we stumble, fall, and sometimes feel stuck, questioning if the effort we make is worth it. This endless pursuit makes people consider success as something shrouded in deep secret and only attainable through elusive talent or blind luck.
This state of mind is birthed by the failure to understand and harness the fundamental physics of growth itself. Success isn’t magic. It’s the inevitable result of applying consistent force in the right direction, learning from friction, and understanding that every fall contains the energy for your next rise. The foremost lesson is to learn to trust the physics. Long term success is inevitable if you follow a pragmatic blueprint to develop the character and skills necessary, no matter how many times you hit the ground.

To build character and skills, let’s look at Newton’s first law in physics. It begins by saying, “An object in motion stays in motion.” This infers that starting is the hardest part. To start, use tiny, consistent actions. These actions overcome inertia far more effectively than sporadic, massive efforts that burn you out. Be practical about your pursuit of success daily. Commit to showing up every single day, even if only for a short while. The compound effect of these micro-actions builds momentum. Your character is developed by discipline. Your skills develop through accumulated practice.
Don’t be perturbed when you encounter what stops you. Friction opposes motion, but it is also essential for traction and control. Failure, setbacks, and challenges are the friction of growth. They slow you down momentarily, but they provide the grip needed to learn and propel forward. When you fall, conduct an audit. Don’t just lament the fall. Ask pertinent questions. What specifically caused this friction? What skill was lacking that made me unable to control it? What assumption was wrong? What character do I need to strengthen? Extract concrete lessons from the fall. Then, deliberately practice overcoming that specific point of friction. Two things come from lessons learnt from a fall. Your character develops resilience and problem-solving. Your skills develop refinement through practice of what is learned.
Learn to leverage your advantages. You can move heavy objects with less force by applying effort at the right point. Focusing on skills and strategies amplifies your efforts. Identify the 20% of skills that will yield 80% of your desired results. Ruthlessly prioritize learning and mastering these competencies. Invest in the deep work of focused, undistracted practice of the skills. Your character develops strategic thinking and focus. Your skills develop expertise and efficiency.
The laws of physics won’t change based on your mood, your past failures, or how unfair things seem. If you would apply force consistently, learn from resistance, build strength through struggle, focus your efforts wisely, and manage your resources, growth must occur. It’s not a maybe; it’s a fundamental law.
