Welcome to Episode One Hundred and Eighty-Six.
We bring you everyday wisdom to help improve your life in many ways.
Our discussion is focused on developing the eye to identify and put to best use whatever is left of you during down and dark times. The title is, I HAVE NOTHING, EXCEPT.
When you face hard or dark times, you most likely become ruffled and this makes you not able to identify what you can hold to rise again. The phrase, “I have nothing,” becomes a solace. To many people, saying that phrase gives the feeling that you will convey the true state of things and attract sympathy to help.
Two widows with very similar adverse situations encountered two men of God. The women were both at their lowest ebb, with nothing except what was left in their houses at that moment. The best similarity between them was that they were both able to identify what they had left, despite their current predicament. This ability was what their rising was built upon.

The ability to identify what you have left, no matter how small is the ember of defiance to your current tragic circumstance. What is left is the “except” on which your progress and miracle begins. You still possess is always what you need to start again. In your hand may seem what looks small like a grain of seed, but remember that you don’t need more than one grain of seed to give rise to a cob or a tree full of fruits, if you would nurture it well.
Your progress out of the dark and down time is in your ability to identify what you still have left. What you have left may be an idea, a thought to reach out to someone for advice or help, the last amount of money on you or the breath you still have. Identify what is left as the seed of possibility. This possibility becomes your compass to move forward and make progress. Focus on what is left and draw your blueprint around it.
In scripture, every time people were able to identify what they had left, God intervened using that possibility. There was nothing except five loaves of bread and two fish in a crowd of five thousand men, and this was how the hope of food for everyone was realised. A handful of oil left in the house of the late prophet’s wife was how the business that paid off the debt began. The little flour and oil that was left for just one meal was where the meals that the widow, her son and Elijah came from for a long time. Jacob had nothing except his breath when he ran from Esau. When he cried out to God for help, all he had was his readiness to work. He achieved tremendous success through his work – building a large family and having great possessions. Whatever you are going through, identify what you have left and ask God for help as you take steps about it. You will be amazed how things will turn around for you.
