Welcome to Episode One Hundred and Ninety.
We bring you everyday wisdom to help improve your life in many ways.
Our discussion is focused on avenues by which we can receive help for our life and purpose. The title is, YOU NEVER WALK ALONE.
The demise of Diogo Jota, the Portuguese Liverpool FC forward sent shock waves across the globe. However, something outstanding that came out of the sadness, was the decision of Liverpool Football Club to continue paying his remaining wages and keep his contract running till it ends in 2027. In addition, Liverpool FC also decided to cater for the education of his kids. This decision is noteworthy, as it goes contrary to the laid down rules by FIFA, the World governing body of football. The act showcases the club’s commitment to supporting the families of players in the best way possible, even in their absence. It gives credence that the club walks its mantra: You Never Walk Alone.
As I read the story, it dawned on me that even in situations of doubts, repeated failures, vanished opportunities and in resounding silence of emptiness and despair, it is pertinent to know that you are never alone. You are still within help’s reach. How it will come is not known, but help will surely come.

Like a rainbow in the clouds, the first sign that you can receive help is when you are able to identify that others have gone through the ordeal that you are currently in. Finding someone who has been in your situation and overcame it, is a blessing, as you can have a mentor to guide you and save you years of wandering.
Situations of failure and down times often try to play a fast one to hold you back. Isolation can be a trick to deter you from making progress. Everyone has people, if you can only be true and authentic. While colossal failure may make you isolate or retract into despair, never let such events weaken you to despise the power of connection with other people. Have the courage to be vulnerable and seek genuine succour. The people you need may be just within reach and you will never know, because you never tried to connect with others. Everyone needs help, so yours isn’t such a bad thing, after all.
Wisdom is a great asset that becomes handy in times of need. Whatever help you need in a down time can be gotten through a specific knowledge you are yet to have. A library, a wise counsel or a new skill can offer you the help you so dearly need. Sometimes, all that stands between you and the wisdom you need to navigate the situation you are in is pride and ignorance. Put aside pride and learn what you need from the sources that provide them.
Help is often overlooked because it comes cloaked in simple, easy to miss and ordinary means. A genuine simple gesture such as kindness in the most mundane things can spark off a process that will provide the help you seek. A casual conversation or a shared article can spark a vital insight or idea.
Never forget to look up to God Almighty for help. Scriptures tells us to ask for wisdom, if we know we lack it. It also tells us that when we call in days of need, He will answer. In whatever way help will come to you, as a person, you will play a role in it, so endeavour to be your best, authentic self, even in down times. And always remember, in your life’s journey, you are never truly alone. Help is always within reach.
